5 Ways to Create Better Brand Photography for Your Business
Are you ready to take your brand to the next level and attract your dream client? Alright, so maybe that’s a silly question - OF COURSE you want to be attracting your dream client!
By investing in brand photography for your business, you’re able to stand out online, share your story, and grow your business. And let’s be honest, your iPhone camera can only get you so far. If you’re ready to capture your brand and showcase your personality but don’t know where to start, here are five ways to get better brand photography for your business.
Create an Inspiration Board
Whether it’s your first or twentieth branding photography session, putting together an inspiration board will not only give you posing ideas, but will also help give your photographer an idea of what types of images you’re looking for. The easiest way to create an inspiration board? Pinterest! Simply create a new board and start pinning the types of images you’d love for your own brand.
Have a Point of Consistency
Your brand photography should capture the essence of your brand. Sometimes it can be a fun challenge to incorporate your brand colors into your photography session, but it’s worth it - I promise! Being consistent with the look and feel of your brand photography will make it easier for your audience and potential clients to understand your brand fully.
When it comes to clothing, we always recommend choosing colors that compliment your branding.
Consider the Logistics
When you’re planning your shoot, don’t forget about the logistics, especially when it comes to location! If you’re able to, visit the location at the time you plan to shoot to get a better idea of lighting and space, especially if you’re shooting somewhere public like a coffee shop. If you’re having a hard time deciding where to shoot, always ask your photographer - they’ll be able to provide you with location recommendations based on the time and style of your shoot.
Utilize Props
Props are a great way to tell a story, and when it comes to brand photography, they’re a great way to capture your brand’s aesthetic. From laptops and notebooks to fabric swatches and products you sell, there are endless ways to incorporate your day-to-day tasks into your brand photography no matter what industry you’re in.
Experiment with Placement and Positioning
Remember when we told you to create an inspiration board? Even when you have an idea of the types of images you want to capture, it’s still so important to experiment with the placement of your props and the positioning of your body.
When you make small adjustments, you’ll have more to compare and contrast. Sometimes your original idea doesn’t look as good as you wanted, but since you experimented with placement and positioning, you have other images that you love so much more!
